Position Title: Journalist II
Job Type: Full-time
We are looking to add a dynamic, seasoned Journalist II to our editorial staff. The ideal applicant will have a keen sense of detail, a strong enthusiasm for journalism, and the capacity to create accurate and interesting content in a hectic setting. In your role as a Journalist II, you will be in charge of providing our audience with timely and pertinent news updates by covering a broad range of subjects, such as current events, politics, sports, entertainment, and technology.
- Research, write, and edit high-quality news articles, features, and reports.
- Stay updated on current events and trending topics to ensure timely and relevant news coverage.
- To write News, stories, features and commentaries
- To check accuracy and facts
- To translate stories, features and commentaries
- To determine a story’s emphasis, length, and format, and organizes material accordingly.
- To research and analyze background information related to stories in order to be able to provide complete and accurate information
- To receive assignments or evaluate leads and tips in order to develop story ideas
- To perform any other duties related to the field as assigned by the supervisors.
Qualifications:
- Holder of a Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mass Communication, Journalism, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a news writer, journalist, or similar role.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Strong understanding of journalistic principles, ethics, and standards.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in using content management systems (CMS) and SEO tools.
- Strong research and analytical skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to handle multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with social media platforms and audience engagement strategies.
REMUNERATION
- Salary: TZS 300,000 – 500,000 per month
